Description
Who It Is For
MNCx500 Multichannel is for home-theater and custom-install users who want clean power, black-background silence, fast dynamic attack, and strong speaker control across a full system, not just one stereo pair. It is built for LCR front-stage expansion, surround and height channels, active crossover systems, and installations where the amplifier should keep dialogue locked, bass tight, and big movie dynamics clear instead of turning loud scenes into a blurred wall of sound.
If your AV receiver or theater integrated amplifier feels compressed, loose in the bass, short of dynamic scale, or unclear when the room gets loud, MNCx500 is the natural upgrade path. It adds a dedicated power stage with stronger output reserve and speaker control while letting your existing processor or receiver handle decoding, volume, and room correction.
It is not an integrated amplifier. It has no volume control, no built-in DAC, and no source selection beyond the amplifier inputs. It should be used with a home-theater processor, preamp, AV receiver pre-out, active crossover, or another upstream device with volume control. RCA input is supported, so traditional integrated amplifiers or AV receivers with RCA pre-out can also be used.

Sonic Character And System Control
The selling point is not only wattage. MNCx500 Multichannel is voiced as a finished amplifier around transparency, a dark noise floor, fast transient response, and high-damping-factor speaker grip. In real theater use, that means quiet passages stay clean, effects start and stop sharply, and low-frequency energy remains controlled when several channels are working at the same time.
The NCx500 platform gives the amplifier serious current capability. Maroon Audio adds the surrounding implementation: power integration, buffer stage, wiring, grounding, chassis layout, trigger control, and final testing. The goal is a multichannel amplifier that sounds powerful without becoming thick, aggressive, or messy at high playback levels.
Module And Power Platform
MNCx500 Multichannel is built around genuine Hypex NCx500 OEM modules, arranged as a complete high-power multichannel amplifier rather than a simple module list. The point is not only measured power; it is the feeling of effortless headroom, tight bass control, clean transient impact, and consistent channel behavior when a theater system starts working hard.
In general, this platform is suitable for systems that need high efficiency, strong drive capability, and clean control across multiple channels. The final complete-amplifier result still depends on power-supply configuration, buffer-stage implementation, chassis layout, wiring, thermal handling, and system matching.
Output power reference:
- 8 ohms: 380W per channel
- 4 ohms: up to 600W per channel, depending on channel count and power-supply configuration
MNCx500 is the higher-rated power choice in this multichannel lineup, built for systems that want more output reserve, stronger impact, and tighter control when the room gets loud.

Maroon Audio Implementation
The core platform of MNCx500 Multichannel is the Hypex NCx500 OEM module. Maroon Audio is responsible for the complete amplifier layout, power-supply integration, signal-stage implementation, internal wiring, chassis assembly, and final testing.
We do not use clone modules, recycled modules, or uncertain-source marketplace boards. In a multichannel Class-D amplifier, the practical details decide whether the system merely plays loudly or feels truly composed: module source, power-supply source, gain consistency, grounding, terminal quality, wiring, thermal layout, and assembly consistency. The goal is a stable, serviceable theater amplifier with real drive, a quiet signal path, and predictable channel-to-channel behavior.
Power Supply And Internal Layout
The multichannel chassis uses a Hypex SMPS platform configured according to channel count and output requirement. Standard 3- to 6-channel builds use the lower 435 mm wide chassis; 7- and 8-channel builds use the larger 435 mm W x 460 mm D x 150 mm H chassis and are handled by request. Around the main power platform, Maroon Audio integrates the auxiliary signal-stage supply, buffer implementation, input configuration, wiring, trigger control, and mechanical layout as a complete amplifier system.
The Standard Edition already includes a dedicated signal-stage power arrangement and a Maroon Audio buffer circuit. Luxury Edition upgrades the surrounding supply implementation, op amps, wiring, shielding, and speaker terminals. These are completed-amplifier configuration differences, not a DIY modification path.

Standard Edition And Luxury Edition
Both editions use the same genuine Hypex NCx500 OEM module platform. The choice is not about original versus non-original modules; it is about tuning depth, buffer implementation, internal parts, wiring, shielding, and terminal level.
Shared Platform
- Genuine Hypex NCx500 OEM modules.
- Hypex SMPS main power platform, configured by channel count and output requirement.
- Maroon Audio six-layer immersion-gold buffer-stage PCB.
- Switchable XLR / RCA input stage; RCA input impedance is approx. 33 kOhm.
- Default high gain: approx. 25.5 dB total gain.

Inputs, Gain, And System Matching
The factory-default setup is high gain: approx. 25.5 dB total gain, with approx. 2.9 Vrms input sensitivity referenced to 380W @ 8 ohms. XLR and RCA playback levels are matched in normal setup.
For system matching or service setup, Low gain can be selected internally by DIP switch after opening the chassis; DIP ON / closed selects Low gain. Low-gain reference: approx. 21.0 dB total gain and approx. 4.9 Vrms input sensitivity at 380W @ 8 ohms.

Voltage, Lead Time, And Warranty
The amplifier is preset for 110V or 220V input before shipment. It does not support automatic voltage switching. Connecting a 110V preset unit to 220V mains may damage the amplifier and is not treated as a normal warranty issue.
Typical build and test time depends on channel count, selected edition, and current parts availability. 7- and 8-channel builds use the larger chassis and should be confirmed before ordering. Confirm lead time before ordering if the amplifier is needed for a fixed installation schedule.
Import duties, VAT/GST, customs clearance fees, brokerage fees, and local taxes are the buyer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed in writing. Overseas orders include a 2-year warranty for the complete amplifier under normal use.
FAQ
How is it positioned in the lineup?
MNCx500 has higher rated power, which is a real advantage in home theater. If you do not need the extra power reserve, M6525X is also an excellent choice; it leans more toward resolution and fine detail. This is only a relative difference between these two Maroon Audio models: compared with many traditional power amplifiers, both offer richer resolution and detail.
Does it include volume control?
No. MNCx500 Multichannel is a pure power amplifier and should be used with a home-theater processor, preamp, active crossover, or another upstream device with volume control.
Can it be used for Dolby Atmos or DTS:X systems?
Yes. MNCx500 Multichannel can be configured as a 3-, 4-, 5-, or 6-channel power amplifier, with 7- or 8-channel builds available by request for LCR expansion, surround channels, or height-channel amplification in Dolby Atmos and DTS:X theater systems. It should be paired with an AV processor or preamp that provides volume control and channel management.
