Maroon Audio M9040 is a high-power two-channel Hi-Fi power amplifier based on genuine Purifi 1ET9040BA modules. It uses dual Hypex SMPS1200 independent main power supplies, Maroon Audio’s own signal buffer stage, linear auxiliary power supplies and carefully selected internal parts. Luxury Edition and Ultra Edition are available for listeners who want more drive headroom, transparency and control from a stereo power amplifier.
The value of M9040 is not only the module model. Around the Purifi 1ET9040BA platform, Maroon Audio focuses on the parts that determine the quality of the complete amplifier: independent left/right main power supplies, linear auxiliary power for the signal stage, our own buffer circuit, six-layer immersion-gold signal PCBs, shielding treatment and higher-grade internal wiring and capacitors. What Systems Is It For?
M9040 is designed for stereo Hi-Fi systems that need higher power reserve and stronger speaker control. It is especially suitable for large floorstanding speakers, speakers with low impedance dips, larger listening rooms, or systems that are often played at higher dynamic levels.
This is a pure power amplifier without volume control. It should be used with a preamplifier, a DAC with volume control, or another source device with adjustable analog output level. Balanced XLR input is recommended when the rest of the system supports it.

Maroon Audio’s Complete Amplifier Implementation
Maroon Audio does not use clone modules, unknown-source modules or loose-market boards. M9040 uses genuine Purifi 1ET9040BA modules and genuine Hypex SMPS1200 audio power supplies. The signal buffer stage, auxiliary power supply, internal wiring, chassis structure and complete assembly are implemented by Maroon Audio.
We do not treat this product as a simple “module-in-a-box” build. The main supply layout, signal-stage power supply, buffer circuit, shielding, wiring and mechanical implementation all affect the final amplifier. M9040 is our answer to this platform: keep the strong technical foundation of Purifi and Hypex, then complete the surrounding implementation with our own design choices.
Edition Options
Luxury Edition is not an entry-level version. It is the full high-configuration two-channel M9040 version, including independent Hypex SMPS1200 main supplies for both channels, linear auxiliary power for the signal stage, six-layer immersion-gold signal PCBs, shielding treatment, Sparkos Labs SS2590 discrete op amps, WBT-level speaker terminals and additional main power filtering. It is the direct choice for users who want the main M9040 design and parts configuration.
Ultra Edition is built on the Luxury Edition foundation. It upgrades the buffer-stage op amps to Weiss OP2-BP, upgrades the internal main power wiring to graphene copper wiring, and changes the main filter capacitors to KEMET PEH169. It is aimed at users who want the highest configuration currently offered in the M9040 stereo chassis.

Purifi 1ET9040BA Platform
The 1ET9040BA is a high-power Purifi module based on the second-generation EIGENTAKT technology platform. It is designed for very high power output, low noise, low distortion and strong load control. In M9040, Maroon Audio uses the original Purifi amplifier module itself and builds our own surrounding signal and power implementation.
Module datasheet figures describe the module under defined test conditions. They should not be treated as complete-amplifier measured data for every real-world system. M9040 is built around this platform, but the complete amplifier performance also depends on power supply layout, buffer stage, wiring, grounding, chassis and system matching.
Power Supply and Signal Stage
M9040 uses one Hypex SMPS1200 main power supply for each channel. For a high-power platform such as 1ET9040BA, independent main supplies are not only about a bigger specification. They also help the amplifier maintain stability during large dynamic swings, complex speaker loads and longer listening sessions.
The signal-processing section uses separate linear auxiliary power supplies, including Block transformer, Nichicon capacitors and TPS7A4700/3301 low-noise LDO regulation. This section is not a decorative DIY add-on; it is part of the complete amplifier implementation.
The buffer stage uses a six-layer immersion-gold PCB and a shielded layout. It includes precision wafer resistors, WIMA film capacitors and the selected discrete op amps for each edition. The intention is to avoid a purely low-cost implementation and to keep the signal stage consistent with the overall level of the amplifier.
Inputs, Gain and Trigger
M9040 provides both XLR balanced input and RCA single-ended input. Balanced XLR is recommended when your preamplifier, DAC or source supports it. RCA is included for compatibility, but balanced input is the preferred connection for this type of high-performance power amplifier.
Default XLR gain is about 20.4 dB. Internal XLR gain options include approximately 14.4 dB, 20.4 dB, 28.2 dB and 29.8 dB. RCA gain is about 6 dB higher than the corresponding XLR setting. If you need a specific gain setting, please confirm before ordering.
The Trigger input/output uses DC 5-12V. It can be used with a preamplifier, processor or home-theater system that supports trigger control. The rear panel includes trigger input and output ports.

Voltage, Shipping and Warranty
This product supports 110V or 220V preset input voltage, but it does not support automatic voltage switching. Customers in 110V regions must confirm the voltage before shipment. Connecting a 110V preset unit to 220V mains may damage the amplifier, and such damage is not covered by warranty.
Typical build and test time is 5-7 days after order confirmation. This product is usually built after the order is confirmed rather than held as large inventory.

M9040 is the higher-power platform and is more suitable for systems that need greater drive reserve and stronger load capability. M6525 is more compact and may be more suitable when size, system balance or budget is the priority.
